Making Pest Control Work Better

4 Mice Control Tips

Rodents, such as mice, are always foraging for food and they don't care at all if they find it outside in your yard, in your garage or shed, or inside your home. If they can find food and find it easily, they will stay close and continue to feast for as long as they can. These pests will multiply rapidly, and you could have a number of these pests in your home before long if you allow it to happen. Read on for some rodent control tips you can use to get rid of these pests.

1. Find Their Source Of Food

You need to find out what the rodents are eating in order to get control of them. Without any food for these pests to eat, they will eventually move on elsewhere, but you have to get rid of whatever they are eating first. To help you find what they are eating, you can pay close attention to the signs of these pests, such as piles of food they may be leaving behind as they scurry back to their nests. Remove all food they can be feeding on and place it in air-tight containers.

2. Find Their Nest

Then you need to find their nest and remove it altogether. These nests are being used to hide in and to use to store their food. Their nests may appear to be piles of torn strips of paper, or you may find a ball of torn fabric. You need to remove these nests from your home.

3. Set Mouse Traps

Anywhere you have seen mice or their nesting material, you need to set traps. Set the traps using bait they will be attracted to, including poisonous mouse bait, peanut butter, or even bird seed. Set the traps using these types of bait, then leave them to sit until they have captured and exterminated a mouse. Reset the traps over and over again until you are no longer catching mice in them.

4. Clear Out Clutter

Cluttered spaces are the best places for mice to hide, as they can go unnoticed for quite some time. If you have a lot of clutter in your home, garage, shed, or around the exterior of your home, you need to remove this clutter to prevent attracting these pests to your home.

If you have an issue with mice in or around your home, you can use the information above to help you exterminate them. Hire a professional exterminator to help you get rid of them.
